New slate of programming at Frisco museum includes fun for kids of all ages

Now there are even more reasons for families to visit Frisco-based Sci-Tech Discovery Center. The Frisco-based museum is launching a new slate of programming for October. Including Preschool Science Time, homeschool classes, maker workshops and more, the activities launched Oct. 1 with Maker Tuesday, where kids built and tested structures. Each week, Maker Tuesday will come with a different theme.

Preschool Science Time, held Thursdays at 10 a.m. and noon, include story time, song and dance and a science activity with a different theme each week. Fun Fridays, also at 10 a.m. and noon, will feature a little bit of everything, including drop-in STEM activities, robot play and more. Plus, fresh popcorn will be served.

National Chemistry Week also happens in October, and special activities will take place daily from the 22nd to the 26th that explore matter and molecules, color and combustion and more. There will also be special activities from Oct. 29 through Nov. 1, including a chance to mix up fake blood, organs and slime, to celebrate Halloween at the museum.
