Tryouts to take place Sept. 29 at Steppin’ Out Dance Company in Mesquite

Area dancers who’ve always wanted the chance to support a professional sports team now have a new chance to shine in North Texas. The Mesquite Outlaws is excited to announce the formation of the Mesquite Outlaws Dance Team to support the team during its inaugural season, which begins in November. The team will be led by Co-Directors Amber Clanton and Jennifer Giles. Auditions and rehearsals will be held at Steppin’ Out Dance Company in Mesquite.

The Mesquite Outlaws Dance Team will have 16 dancers who will perform at each of the 12 home soccer matches during the season and will be heavily involved in community outreach efforts.

Amber Clanton danced for three seasons (2015-2018) with the Dallas Sidekicks, and served as its assistant director in 2018. She was also a Texas Revolution dancer in 2017, and founded a dance program for the Mississippi RiverKings in her native Memphis. Jennifer Giles is the owner and director for the award-winning Steppin’ Out Dance Company in Mesquite.

“We’re thrilled create a local dance team to celebrate and support our Mesquite Outlaws,” says Clanton. “Entertainment is a key component of indoor soccer, and we plan to bring some noise to the Mesquite Arena and team spirit to our fans.”
